Kyle Melton, DMA is a voice teacher, SVI-trained vocologist, researcher and professional singer on faculty at Southeastern Louisiana University. With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Melton enjoys teaching a studio of all ages and skill levels. His holistic approach to singing ensures that each student learns the principles of healthy voice production alongside performance-craft and musicianship.

Believing that a one-size-fits-all approach isn’t able to work for everyone, Dr. Melton tailors each session to fit the unique needs, temperament, and aspirations of each client. Throughout his teaching career, his students have won awards in local and regional competitions, been accepted into competitive university music degree programs, and embarked on flourishing performance careers!

Testimonials

"After being hit with multiple blows of medical trauma... my singing had developed to the point in which it felt as if my training had been undone... Dr. Melton is one of the rare individuals out there who understands both sides of the coin, partially because he is brilliant, and partially because he has been there himself. He has hope and conviction in your talent (even when you think all is lost), and not only will help you return to your craft, he will restore your own belief in it as well!"

— Linseigh Green, Cast Member of The Drifter Girls, West End Tour

“Dr. Melton has helped me grow substantially as a vocalist. I have a better understanding of my voice, as well as how I can use its capabilities more effectively to tell stories through song. He has challenged me to think critically… from both a technical and artistic standpoint. Most importantly, Dr. Melton has given me a safe space to express myself, and to learn and grow as a vocalist, for which I am immeasurably grateful.”

— Calla Harper, Louisiana State University Graduate
